About Bounce

Bounce is a 2002 Arabian Gelding. He was diagnosed with alopecia, an autoimmune disease causing hair loss, in April 2009. This is critical because a horse living in Minnesota cannot survive without its hair. There is no known treatment for alopecia in traditional medicine, so I have decided to try a different approach by contacting Dr. Joseph Thomas, Ph.D of For the Love of the Horse. Dr. Thomas is a medical research scientist and Chinese herbalist. I have created this blog to chronicle the journey and its hopeful end.

Bounce March 2009

This is the first photo I have taken of Bounce since he started losing his hair. The photo was taken March 21st. I am working with Dr. Thomas to have an herbal treatment made to fit Bounce's specific needs, but until then he will be on an immune system booster. I need to get a vet out to draw blood for a CBC and then Dr. Thomas will have the information he needs.
