April 13

As you can see, Bounce has lost considerable hair on his face over three weeks. He is scheduled for acupuncture on Wednesday and the conventional vet will be out to draw blood for a CBC on Wednesday also. The areas of hair loss on his body are not growing as quickly as the facial hair loss.

  2. I am a believer in acupuncture. I opened my eyes to it a couple of years ago when a trainer friend suggested we try it for lameness in my ASB stallion. I never use conventional medicine for lameness or soreness any more. Dr. Johnson told me they have had success with other autoimmune diseases, but they have not had a case of alopecia. It's worth a try. Thanks for your prayers.

  3. Wow, what are you using for moisture/lotion? I feel so bad for you and him!

Will the lack of hair dry his skin out at all? Keep us posted on all the interesting side effects too. Not trying to turn him into a "test case" or anything, but we can learn from this experience.

Best wishes to you both. Glad you are trying the acupuncture.

  4. So far his skin is fine, but I read it can get scaly. I do need to protect him from sunburn as we move into summer.

  5. He really has lost more hair on the face! They all seem to be shedding ore now that the weather is warmer but that obviously is the alopecia. I always used an acupuncturist for my boys and they thanks me profusely after. They were so relaxed once they got the "flow" going. I hope all this helps Bounce!
